LOCALLAKE WYLIEWAGYU

From grocer to cattleman

Retirement became an entirely new beginning.

Bill Davidson began working in the supermarket business when he was just 14 years old. After a career spanning nearly 50 years, he retired and, with Julia, purchased 90 acres in York County on January 15, 2015.

Bill imagined the land as a place to fish, hunt and enjoy retirement—although, as it turned out, he never hunted there. Instead, the property became the beginning of an entirely new chapter.

Despite never having operated heavy equipment, Bill set about clearing and improving the acreage himself. Working alongside a dedicated, hardworking farm manager, he transformed the raw land into the foundation of The Davidson Farm.

Today, Bill and Julia raise American Wagyu cattle with patience, daily care and respect for the land, making a limited amount of their beef available directly to neighbors in the local community.

This farm is more than where we raise cattle. It’s the life we built together—and something we’re proud to share with our neighbors.

Why American Wagyu

Exceptional beef takes time.

Every American Wagyu calf at The Davidson Farm is born and raised here. From its first months alongside “momma” through a carefully managed two-year grain-finishing period, there are no shortcuts—just patience, daily care and a process designed to develop remarkable marbling, tenderness and flavor.

01

Born on the farm

Every calf is born and raised on the Davidson property, with room to graze and grow.

02

Six months with “momma”

For approximately six months, each calf nurses and remains close to its mother—its “momma,” as Bill affectionately says.

03

A special grain blend

After weaning, the cattle begin a blend of grains formulated specifically for raising American Wagyu.

04

Two years to finish

The cattle remain on this carefully managed grain program for two years before going to market.
